What is Wizherd?

Wizherd places you in the role of a wizard navigating hostile environments filled with enemies, traps, and powerful bosses. Eschewing traditional weaponry, your combat here is entirely magic. You’ll be casting spells using natural hand motions. This input design will of course take advantage of VR’s strengths, encouraging physical engagement and spatial awareness during combat encounters.

One of Wizherd’s core systems is its deep magic customisation. You can equip different spells, perks, and enchanted rings, allowing for a wide range of playstyles. These systems encourage experimentation, with each run offering new combinations of abilities and equipment. This roguelite-inspired structure ensures that no two sessions play out exactly the same, adding long-term replay value.

Multiplayer is the Key

Multiplayer is another feature of Wizherd. You can choose to venture into the game solo or team up with friends in co-op. Private lobbies allow groups to tackle dungeons together, combining spells and strategies to overcome tougher challenges. Co-op gameplay is positioned as an optional enhancement rather than a requirement, ensuring solo players can still experience the full game.

Beyond gameplay mechanics, Wizherd also includes a wardrobe system that allows you to customise your wizard’s appearance. This system provides an additional layer of personalisation, letting players visually represent their preferred magical identity in multiplayer sessions.

Wizherd Launch Plans

At launch, Wizherd will feature an open world structure that gradually expands as you progress. Enemies are designed to become more complex and dangerous over time, requiring you to adapt your spell loadouts and tactics. The game’s dungeon crawling loop includes 15 tiers of increasing difficulty, offering a structured challenge system for those looking to test their skills.

About Squido Studio

As stated above, the game has been developed by Squido Studio. This is a developer with considerable experience in VR development. And very much a mixed bag at that. For every No More Rainbows and DigiGods, we also have titles such as Grand Theft Animals and Brainrot Animals. The former are considered well received VR experience, while the latter are little more than throwaway meme nonsense. You should place your bet now as yo which side of the coin Wizherd will land on.

With its 12th February, 2026, release date now confirmed, we will soon see whether Wizherd shapes up to be a notable addition to the VR market. Are you interested in another VR co-op dungeon-crawler? Let us know in the comments below!
