Korpi Games has been working on Virtual Hunter for over five years now. Originally released as a Steam Early Access title in 2021, the official launch took place at the beginning of 2025. XRSource reported last summer that the studio planned to expand support to more platforms, and that’s about to take place very soon. Publisher VRKiwi has revealed that Virtual Hunter is ready to launch for PSVR 2 and Meta Quest next month.

Going on the Hunt
As the name suggests, Virtual Hunter is a hunting simulator, where you can track and kill various animals, including red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, and European hare. Before taking to the great outdoors, you have to pack your gear, choose your weapon, and set the time of day.
This isn’t some simple Duck Hunt-style shooter either, as each animal has been created to offer authentic behaviour. They all have sight, hearing, smell, eating, sleeping and hurt behaviours. Tracking each animal will be different; you’ll have to learn to read the wind, use callers and hunting towers as you try to outsmart your prey.
Virtual Hunter Features
As you might expect from a game that’s been in development this long, Virtual Hunter is brimming with features. As mentioned, there is a wide variety of animals to hunt depending on the challenge you’re after. That goes for the weapons, too. Do you head out rifle in hand for long-ranged shots, or do you want to go old school with a bow and arrow?
With a huge wilderness hunting ground to explore and a full day/night cycle, you have complete freedom to decide where and when is just right to claim your next trophy. Virtual Hunter includes an unusual trophy mount system, where you can place your taxidermied trophies around a cosy wooden cabin. Select different wall mounts, full body mounts and table mounts for small game.
Furthermore, you don’t need to go hunting alone. Virtual Hunter supports up to 6-player co-op, making for a rather less lonely wilderness.
Launch Details
Virtual Hunter is set to launch for Meta Quest and PSVR 2 on 25th March 2026. Both games can be wishlisted now on their respective platforms. Prices have yet to be revealed.
While you wait, don’t forget to check out all the new VR games arriving this February!
