In the summer of 2025, Trebuchet followed its hit 2020 title Prison Boss VR with a sequel. Expanding upon the original’s zany gameplay, Prison Boss Prohibition has proven that everyone likes to be their own boss. If you’re a fan of the game, then you might want to take a look at the latest DLC, ‘Grind and Shine’, delivering one of the most expansive content additions to date for Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Grind and Shine DLC
Prison Boss Prohibition players should now be familiar with the streets of New Yolk City, and how to earn cash. In this latest DLC, they’ll get to travel to Scrambleton, a new location full of bootlegging opportunities. Not only will players have access to new tools like the furnace and the grindstone, but they’ll also be able to partner with three friends thanks to the recent multiplayer update.
- City Streets: Visit Scrambleton, a gritty 1930s rail‑town where industry meets underground deals.
- Tools of the trade: Master the anvil, forge oven, ring mold, grindstone and more.
- Dodgy Goods: Create gold bars, gemstones, rings, bracelets, watches, knives, wrenches, razors and other forged‑goods to serve the city’s factions.
- Crooked Capos: The Eggsploiters: Wealthy mine‑owners, ruthless businessmen, and your new patrons.
Prison Boss Prohibition’s DLC ‘Grind and Shine’ is out now on Quest and SteamVR for $4.99 USD. Or you can purchase the Grind and Shine Season Pass, which includes all the DLC content as well as all Premium Cosmetic Packs that come out between December 11th and February 28th.
Becoming a Prison Boss
While the original Prison Boss focused on working the system to earn cash by crafting and selling items, the sequel moved outside into New Yolk City. Gone were the four walls of the four prisons you found yourself incarcerated in and the limited materials. In Prison Boss Prohibition, you can set up a stall, draft beer, roll a few cigarettes and craft what the people want.
These are always prohibited items that the Mayor chooses, so youhave to be on your toes and adapt when required. Whilst avoiding the gaze of any police officers that happen to wander by. With more cash, you’ll be able to customise your store and your threads, whilst building that all-important street cred.
More Jail Time to Come
Trebuchet will continue to support Prison Boss Prohibition into 2026. Updates will include a new Custom Game Mode and Sandbox mode.
