During the summer, 3R Games (Besiege VR) released Cave Crave, a caving simulator all about exploring subterranean worlds. Initially finding its way to Meta Quest followed by PSVR 2, it’s soon the turn of SteamVR. With Cave Crave available for PC VR headsets this month.

Craving a Cave?

At its core, Cave Crave is a caving sim where you crawl around and explore tight spaces with a flashlight. There are novel features like areas that you can mark with chalk to help you remember the route you’ve taken, and you can open up new paths by breaking rocks.

This gameplay varies across the four modes, Story Mode with a narrative and a free roam option. A Tourist Mode for those less keen on tight spaces who can enjoy some guided exploration. Or then there’s the Horror Mode, which as you can imagine can be quite terrifying, especially with the addition of spiders. Lastly, there’s an Arcade Mode, which is already available on Meta Quest, arriving shotly after launch for PC VR.

PC VR Enhancements

While the gameplay remains the same, the PC VR edition will come with a selection of its own unique enhancement, namely visual improvements.

3R Games has said it’ll feature:

  • Advanced lighting & shadows
  • Dynamic water reflections
  • Sharper textures
  • Richer atmosphere

So if the Meta Quest version didn’t seem real enough, then maybe you can count on the PC VR version to increase that sense of claustrophobia.

Launch Details

Cave Crave is making its way to PC VR headsets on Steam from 12th December 2025. You can wishlist the game now, but 3R Games has yet to specify how much it’ll cost.
