3R Games are on a bit of a hot streak in VR. First, Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street achieved impressive sales, then Cave Crave launched to an eager audience. Most recently, Besiege VR has arrived, and in 131XR’s review, we find that it’s been worth the wait.

What is Besiege VR?

A VR rendition of the popular flatscreen PC title, Besiege, Besiege VR is a game of two parts. First, you have a construction phase. Given a toolkit of various building blocks, you must construct a mechanical monstrosity capable of serving the ask at hand. And that task? In the second phase, you’ll be driving you creation towards the enemy encampment and destroying it with glee.

That is, should your contraption work. An errant block or inadequately supported cannon can see your prized creation limp forward into an untimely wreckage. Ouch.

Besiege VR is undoubtedly a game of trial-and-error. However, in doing so even failure can be enjoyable. As you’ll learn in the Besiege VR review from 131XR below, laughing at your own mistakes is half of the fun.

Besiege VR Review

The game sets you the challenge of assaulting enemy positions, be they small village huts or towering castles. It begins simply: ram to win. However, the game soon throws more difficult tasks your way. Bombs litter the ground and archers mount on castle walls. Enemy troops will march towards you, hacking and slashing at your creation. Have you built your vehicle of doom sturdy enough? Got the correct type of firepower onboard? And often more importantly, is it balanced well enough to move at all?

You can find out more about how this all plays out in 131XR’s Besiege VR review below. The method of construction, the commanding of your creation and the unique aesthetic are all covered in detail, so what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for an interesting new VR experience this weekend, watch that video!

About 3R Games

As stated above, 3R Games are currently on a run in VR. Despite not being exclusively a VR development studio, the content the team are putting out is being very well received. What’s more, they have continued to support all of their VR titles long after launch. Hopefully, Besiege VR will see the same kind of continued support.
