Earlier this year, Moonhood and Fast Travel Games released The Midnight Walk for PC and PlayStation 5, with VR support for both platforms. Loved by players and critics alike, you’ll soon be able to buy The Midnight Walk as a physical copy for PS5 and PSVR 2.

The Physical Edition
Created in partnership with Pix’n Love, this new The Midnight Walk physical edition will come in two forms. The “First Edition” is the game, in a case with a reversible cover. Limited to 2000 copies, it’s available to pre-order for €39.90 EUR on the Pix’n Love website.
Then there’s the “PS5 Collector’s Edition”. Priced at €169.90 and limited to 500 copies, this version comes with the game, an exclusive Potboy figurine (17 cm tall), a numbered certificate of authenticity, hand-signed by the two creators of the game: Olov Redmalm and Klaus Lyngeled and a premium-finish collector box featuring a front cutout and a dual-flap opening.
With pre-orders now open for both, the official launch will take place in February 2026. Although, don’t expect any copies to be left by then.
What is The Midnight Walk?
Moonhood’s The Midnight Walk garnered a lot of attention when it was first announced due to the studio’s method of creation, using claymation. The same sort of process companies like Aardman use for Wallace & Gromit, The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure.
You become the Burnt One, embarking on a twisted tale where you’ll discover the likes of Potboy, a lost lantern creature. Together, you’ll encounter a multitude of terrifying monsters, all eager to devour Potboy’s flame. The Midnight Walk takes place across five tales of fire and darkness, entirely sculpted in clay and animated in stop motion.
Where Does the Path Lead?
Apart from this upcoming physical edition, Moonhood has yet to confirm if it plans on expanding the experience further. A couple of small patches have been released, but no new content has arrived. While that might seem a bit strange in today’s modern gaming era of constant updates, DLC and expansions, it seems Moonhood might be happy with the game as it is. It’s also worth considering that stop-motion animation is an exceedingly time-intensive process, so anything new might take a little while to arrive.
