Debuting back in 2021, Evil Inside is a popular psychological horror experience. The game was launched for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Given the success of the first title a sequel was perhaps inevitable. What was less likely, was that the second title will be a VR exclusive, with Evil Inside VR set for release next year.

About Evil Inside

Evil Inside tells the story centers of a teenager named Mark. Left all alone, he’s dealing with the aftermath of his mother’s death and his father’s imprisonment. Mark tries to contact his mother using a Ouija‑board, but something goes wrong and he begins to have paranormal experiences.

He must collect the fragments of the Ouija‑board scattered around his house (which itself behaves strangely, shifting and changing) to uncover the truth. The environment plays a big role in the game, with the house full of dark corners, changing layouts, ambient disturbances, visions, and psychological tension. The horror comes more from atmosphere, fear of the unknown, isolation, and hallucinations rather than from combat or typical monster‑battles.

Remake or Sequel?

According to JanduSoft, Evil Inside VR is not just a simple adaptation to VR. It’s a complete reimagining of the original story. The game is being rebuilt to deliver a new, deeper, and more terrifying psychological horror experience. PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 3 owners will know the difference between a port and an adaptation.

With significant changes in gameplay, lighting, sound, and puzzle design, this version completely transforms the way you experience Mark’s nightmare. You’ll explore the house that’s been redesigned for VR. It’ll make you feel trapped in a hostile and tension-filled environment, now with rebuilt puzzles, more realistic lighting, immersive spatial sound, and a renewed narrative flow specifically for VR.
