September offered a decent selection of new VR games for Meta Quest, including self-cooperative puzzler UnLoop. Developed by Superposition NULL and published by CM Games (Into the Radius 2), UnLoop is now due for an Early Access release on SteamVR later this week.

UnLoop on SteamVR

UnLoop is scheduled to launch for PCVR headsets on SteamVR this Thursday, 13th November 2025. Unlike its Meta Quest cousin, it’ll be classed as an Early Access title even though it’ll have content parity with the standalone version.

However, during this period, UnLoop for SteamVR will be enhanced and expanded upon. Currently supporting Quest, Pico and Valve Index controllers, the studios will: “improve compatibility with various headsets and controllers based on the community’s feedback.”

The roughly 3-6 month Early Access timeline will see the addition of more levels as well as continuing the story to improve the game’s length and puzzle variety. Visual enhancements, including lightning, shadows, and effects, will be introduced at a later date. All delivered at no additional cost to players.

Untying this VR Knot

Sporting a retro-futuristic aesthetic, UnLoop is a time-bending puzzle game where you have to team up with yourself. The narrative sees you infiltrating a space station, but due to a temporal phenomenon, you find yourself stuck in a controllable time loop.

The idea being that your past/future selves aid each other in circumnavigating the station’s security. That might mean one avatar holding a switch whilst another performs a task. Or throwing a key card to another copy on a different level to gain access to a new area.

UnLoop Review

As XRSource’s friends over at 131XR discovered in their review: “UnLoop delivers a colourful experience focused on puzzle solving rather than action.”

With no enemies protecting the station, you’re given free rein and time to solve each challenge. Not an unlimited amount of time, though, as each area does have a set time limit. So if you find that the first couple of avatars took too long at a task, these can be vaporised with a handy gun, restarting the puzzle to improve upon the time.

All in all, it makes for a fun puzzle experience.
