What is Maid of Sker?
The original flatscreen version of Maid of Sker launched in 2020 and was very well received by horror fans. In this survival horror, you find yourself in a remote hotel with a gory and macabre history from Welsh folklore. Set in 1898, the game has been inspired by the tale of Elisabeth Williams, whose story is of a “family empire driven by torture, slavery, piracy and a supernatural mystery.”
Fusing “psychological, gothic and British horror”, Maid of Sker VR is a stealth-focused horror where your only weapon is a defensive sound device. Use must use this against a cult of “sound-based” enemies known as The Quiet Ones.
Apart from the trailer (seen below), few details have been released regarding how the game will play in VR. Wales Interactive hasn’t mentioned if this is a complete reworking or a more simplified VR port.
