Last week, as part of the Neon Genesis Evangelion 30th anniversary celebrations, Pixelity Inc. held a special showcase for its upcoming VR game. While guests were treated to an early taster of Evangelion: Cross Reflections, we learnt more about the game, including that it’ll support hand tracking.

It’s fair to say that XRSource has been excited by the prospect of Evangelion: Cross Reflections since its initial announcement in 2025. Details have been scarce regarding gameplay, while the general narrative has been more broadly discussed. Now we’re beginning to get more details through, including the fact that Evangelion Cross Reflections will include both a Story and Battle mode.

If you’re an anime fan, then the thought of a VR game based on the iconic Neon Genesis Evangelion series is exciting. Developer Pixelity Inc. has only released narrative details so far, and where the game will fit within the anime’s timeline. But soon, a select group of players will be able to playtest Evangelion: Cross Reflections.

At the beginning of 2025, Korean studio Pixelity Inc. made an announcement that got anime fans excited. The team revealed plans to develop a VR game based on the coveted ’90s anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Now we have an official name, Evangelion: Cross Reflections.
