A new game on Meta Quest designed to push you to your limit, Can You Do It is a proposition that is very easy to explain. The game challenges you with virtual recreations of daring feats – mostly attempting to induce vertigo – pushing you into feeling through immersion. However, in 131XR’s review of Can You Do It, we learn that the question should actually be ‘would you want to?’

What is Can You Do It?
Can You Do It is billed as an ‘epic VR experience’ by developer Thunder Game Studio. The game presents a series of activities designed to push you to your limit using the immersive nature inherent to VR. These range from hang-gliding to climbing high into the sky, to an elevator that fails and plummets to the ground. The common theme here being heights.
The game offers both free mode and time challenges, which supposedly were intended to offer replay value. However, in 131XR’s Can You Do It review, we discover that there’s very little value in playing the game even once, let alone a second time.
Can You Do It Review
There are six mini-games featured in the game. However, in 131XR’s Can You Do It review, we learn that each and every one is far outclassed by other titles available in VR, and on the Meta Quest. The ‘elevator failure’ game is presented in a far superior fashion in Ritchie’s Plank Experience or Walk the Plank. ‘Gun hunt’ is a basic shooting gallery. And ‘ladder climbing’ is inferior in every way to, well, The Climb. It even doesn’t stand up to the recently released Endless Climber.
Thunder Game Studio
It’s surprising that Thunder Game Studio’s latest title is such a poor show, as the studio has significant experience in creating VR titles. The team has delivered no less than eight VR games and a bevy of training applications using the medium. However, few would argue that the likes of Candy Puzzle or Fear Dead House were exactly original works. Perhaps then, Can You Do It is simply following a pattern.
Whatever the case may be, Can You Do It is not a game that comes recommended. If you think 131XR has got this one wrong, please do let us know in the comments below!
