Microids has announced the official release date of Syberia VR. The Syberia series has long been an understated success in the games industry, and the forthcoming VR edition of the original game has been fully reengineered experience designed to make use of VR’s immersive capabilities.

What Makes Syberia VR Worth Playing?
Syberia VR is a purpose‑built VR remake of Benoît Sokal’s beloved 2002 adventure game, Syberia. Set to launch exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, this immersive title brings Kate Walker’s journey to life in a first‑person VR experience.
This is not just a simple transfer of the original game. It’s a full rebuild, crafted from the ground up for VR:
- Native VR Design: Engineered for the Meta Quest 3’s hardware, from lighting and textures to performance and controls.
- Fully Immersive, First-Person Perspective: You’ll explore environments with room‑scale support, fluid locomotion, and intuitive interactions replace static camera angles.
- Tactile Puzzles & Hand Tracking: You can engage with puzzles by physically twisting gears, sliding levers, and manipulating objects.
- Cinematic Presence: There’s no HUD clutter. In VR, story cues have been revamped and are now embedded in the environment. Expect lifelike gestures, voice‑acted dialogue, and expressive character animations.
Story & Atmosphere are Still the Soul of Syberia
The core of Syberia VR remains the emotionally resonant story of Kate Walker. You’ll play as a New York lawyer thrust into a surreal journey across Europe to track down inventor Hans Voralberg and the legend of living mammoths. The original game is revered for its dreamlike settings, quirky automatons, and introspective tone. The team behind Syberia VR promise that the narrative is faithfully preserved. Though of course, now experienced through the clarity and immediacy of VR.

Syberia VR Release Date
The VR edition will debut on 13th November 2025, launching one week after the flatscreen Syberia Remastered releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As stated above, it will be compatible with Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. Unfortunately, Meta Quest 2 owners will be left in the dark.
