The sport of slap fighting has gradually risen to cultural prominence over recent years. While it might lag behind the popularity of boxing or mixed martial arts, that crack of palm against face certainly has its fans. So it’s surprising that we’ve never seen the sport being made into a videogame. Curious Games is going to right that wrong in September with the launch of Slap Fighter.

Unleash the Slap!
Slapping opponents from the other side of a podium may be all that’s needed in real life, but a video game adaptation needs a little more. So Slap Fighter has gamified the sport, offering more flexibility in the bouts as well as some rather fantastical features.
There’s a single-player campaign where you step into the shoes of John “The Invincible” Krasinsky. Entering the underground fight club scene, you’re going up against the sinister Slap Syndicate in order to take them down. Aiding in this process, you’re trained by a new master in the ways of the Elemental Slap, utilising fire, water, earth, lightning, and wind slaps to your advantage. All of which has been inspired by ’90s action movies.
In addition to the campaign, players will also be able to face off against one another in multiplayer. There will be three modes available (Random Matchmaking, Friendly Matches, or full-blown Tournaments), offering plenty of slapping action once the campaign is over.
Furthermore, Slap Fighter will also include a collection of side-quests and mini games like “Slap-a-Mole” located throughout the main hideout hub.
