Tabletop boardgaming platform All On Board! arrived earlier this year for Meta Quest and SteamVR to mixed reviews. This week, the team at The Game Kitchen released a major update to the title, adding new DLC and a major feature. The new DLC for All On Board is the officially licensed Aye, Dark Overlord.

What’s new in v1.1
First up, let’s talk about the storytelling party game Aye, Dark Overlord! A party-oriented game designed around fast, improvisational gameplay and card-driven narration, in Aye, Dark Overlord! players take on the roles of hapless minions trying to justify their failure to their fearsome master.
The DLC includes both game versions (Green Box and Red Box), which can be played separately or combined for more chaotic sessions.
“For the first time ever in an All On Board! DLC, we’re adding something entirely new: a unique player avatar of none other than Rigor Mortis himself, to be used while playing the game,” the announcement notes. “We thought this was the perfect chance to bring him to life at the table, and we hope you enjoy taking on the role of the Dark Overlord as much as we enjoyed bringing him in.”
Additionally, the update also highly requested improvements to learning each game. The Game Kitchen has added a ‘Learning Hub’, offering a multitude of resources to make learning each game’s rules even easier. Players can now consult a full rulebook for all games, whilst Aye, Dark Overlord! and Escape the Dark Castle are presented in a dedicated wiki format as well as quick reference/one-pager rule summaries.

What’s next for All On Board!
On top of these new additions, The Game Kitchen has also laid out a new roadmap for All On Board! This Autumn will feature two new games, a French-suited card deck for free and the village-building game Hamlet as DLC.
Likewise, in the Winter, a free (to be announced) game will drop alongside the next DLC title, Port Royal. Spring 2026 will also feature two new games, both of which have yet to be revealed.
