Earlier this year, VR studio Super Hyper Mega released a rather unusual game for Meta Quest. That title was HIT, a game all about punching clay heads. Now, it’s no longer exclusive to Meta Quest, with HIT launching on SteamVR today.

Unleash some virtual rage!

The premise of HIT is very simple. You’re presented with an assortment of clay heads in which to pummel, the idea being to match the damage and shape of a similarly contorted head. Whilst that sounds quite basic, Super Hyper Mega has managed to squeeze a fun gameplay loop into the experience. It’s even great for unleashing some tension.

You’re given an assortment of weapons in which to deliver these blows, use your fists, try a frying pan, or go at it with a baseball bat. What’s more, all the heads talk, reacting to hits with funny voices and expressions to keep things light and cheeky.

HIT features

Since the Meta Quest launch, Super Hyper Mega has greatly expanded the experience, with HIT for SteamVR benefiting from these updates.

There are over 44 heads to wreak, with some cameos from popular content creators. 16 weapons, each with its own unique impact, like the anvil, assault rifle, knife, sledgehammer, nunchaku and grenade.

New areas have now been added, so you can take a break from smashing heads. Instead, take out your anger by destroying a car, smashing the windscreen and trying to do as much damage as possible within the time limit. Or, there’s the new Dystopia World, adding some scary vibes to the whole experience.

HIT availability

HIT is available today for Meta Quest and PCVR headsets on Steam. There will be a launch discount for the SteamVR version, so don’t miss out on that early deal.
