Held in Cologne, Germany, each summer, Gamescom is the largest gaming event in Europe. Selkies Interactive will be presenting Echoes of Mora to the public for the first time. Thus giving them a chance to delve beneath the waves of this narrative underwater adventure for VR and PC.

“Echoes of Mora is a true passion project. It brings together all our creative ideas and the different perspectives within our team,” says Meike Strippel, Co-Founder and Lead Artist at Selkies Interactive, in a statement. “We want to create a world that is not only visually stunning, but also emotionally engaging and fascinating. We are incredibly excited to let players experience it for the first time at Gamescom.”

Event attendees will find the team based at the Homes of Indies booth in the Indie Area. Studio founders Namin Hansen, Meike Strippel, and Daria Pankau will all be on site to demo the game and answer any questions.

An underwater adventure awaits

Echoes of Mora invites players to uncover hidden clues and help the young protagonist, Mora, search for her missing brother in a flooded, abandoned village. Mixing time travel with puzzle-solving gameplay, players need to activate Echoes to experience the settlement before it was submerged. The ultimate goal is to stop the flood.

At the moment, Echoes of Mora doesn’t have a release date on Steam. But the Gamescom demo will be coming to Steam in the near future. Selkies Interactive notes that the demo will feature “roughly one third of the full game world, including a forest and lake environment.”
