As much as XRSource would love to see an official Worms game come to VR, ts highly unlikely. Thankfully, the folks over at Cosmorama have seen fit to create their own version of the tactical, turn-based action game. Called Table Troopers, it’s set to arrive for Meta Quest headsets very soon.

What is Table Troopers?
As mentioned, Table Troopers is a turn-based action game where you have a team of quirky characters to wage war with. Offering both single-player and multiplayer gameplay modes, up to three players can go head-to-head. There’s even a short three-chapter campaign to get you started. The key twist here is its mixed reality functionality.
Just like MR titles such as The Smurfs – Flower Defense, Table Troopers is conducted entirely in front of you on a flat surface. Manoeuvre your troops around the fully destructive battlefield and unleash an assortment of weapons upon your opponents. From grenades to RPGs and even airstrikes, to area is safe. However, these are still physics-based weaponry, so variables like wind and attack angle play an important role.
And if you don’t fancy the MR mode, you can always play in VR!

Launch Details
Table Troopers will be released as an Early Access title for Meta Quest headsets on 17th July 2025. Cosmorama has already confirmed that during this period the team will be adding new content and features. These include but aren’t limited to: more chapters in the campaign, new weapons and tools, improved social features, and more.
