Neat Corporation, the studio behind the popular Budget Cuts series, is set to launch a demo for their latest title, Crossings. The game sends you into the Norse afterlife, reborn as a VR roguelite. You’ll fight, explore, and cross paths with others like you. No voice chat. No usernames. Just presence, movement, and trust.

What is Crossings?
As stated above, Crossings is a game that casts you as a dead guy. You’ll be adventuring through the Norse afterlife in a roguelite experience with a twist. Along the way you’ll meet other players. However, they will remain entirely anonymous. Will they be friend or foe? You’ll have to trust your gut instinct.
In Crossings you cross paths with others – hence the name – who naturally and seamlessly appear in the same world. Every player walks their own path. But when paths cross, your fates intertwine. Without voice chat, you must communicate with body language. Will you fight together for mutual survival, or go your separate ways?
Crossings Demo
The details of the upcoming Crossings demo have begun flowing. This demo will feature a single-player slice of the full game. Neat Corporation are promising rich combat, spellcasting, and early progression.
However, the confusing part of this story is when the demo is coming. The announcement came that the game is set to launch a demo at Steam Next Fest. In October. That’s right, we are months away from its arrival. So why announce it now? Honestly, we’re not entirely sure. But then, who are we to judge? We haven’t had a hit series of VR games, so, we should probably just let Neat Corporation cook.

Trust in Neat Corporation
Crossings was announced earlier this year for PC VR and Meta Quest. There’s currently no word on a PSVR 2 edition of the game. However, Neat Corporation has been keen supporters of the PlayStation VR formats over the years, so don’t lose hope!
Neat Corporation made their name with the Budget Cuts series. The original was an early VR exclusive, but was followed by a sequel and several expansions/spin-offs. There’s also Garden of the Sea to consider. A VR title that again proved very popular, and has since been adapted for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Crossings will be the third new IP from the studio, and as such has a significant level of anticipation. It seems as though we’ll be getting our first taste of the game in October, so we’ll be able to see if expectations can be met in just a few months.
