Exit Condition One has had a confusing lifespan. According to different accounts, the game launched anywhere from 2022 to January of this year. In reality, an Early Access launch on Meta Quest gave way to a full release redubbed Exit Condition One HD. Exactly why the original isn’t considered high-definition (HD), we’re not sure.

About Exit Condition One

Exit Condition One was a game that was essentially born of boredom. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Damon Poole was rapidly consuming Netflix and Steam titles, when he decided to challenge himself. His goal was to create a one room escape room in VR. Believing that the result was of a good quality, he further endeavoured to create additional rooms. Three years later, this led to the multi-level puzzle adventure you see today.

The initial one-room escape room is now a free demo, which has a 4.5 rating and 36 primarily 5 star reviews.

Exit Condition One HD

Exit Condition One HD is an immersive adventure where you play as “the curator.” Your goal is to solve challenges to escape a failed cryogenic facility, with gameplay spanning five expanding levels.

Designed for roomscale VR on Meta Quest, the game adapts to small real-world spaces (2m x 3m), allowing free movement without artificial locomotion. The game supports full physics integration, making nearly all objects interactive and hands visible. The experience avoids jump scares, focusing on physical interaction and engagement.
