Signal Space Lab and Actrio Studio have launched their sci-fi interactive VR project, Human Within, for PC VR via SteamVR. This follows its launch last month on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. Human Within is an interactive experience that explores “the influence of AI and advanced technology on society, highlighting the potential threats if misused”.

What is Human Within?
Directed by Avi Winkler and Anne Weigel, Human Within is a movie/game hybrid of sorts. Not too dissimilar to the likes of Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? and other titles from Wales Interactive. The story unfolds in a modern world where Nyla, a cyber engineer, and her sister Linh, are employed at Forward Industries. Together, they pioneer a groundbreaking supercomputer by harnessing the brain’s processing power.
The game combines a branching storyline with video game playability. It’s a surprisingly unique interactive experience in VR, given how frequently the medium is touted as the bridge between film and video games.
Human Within Review
As stated above, Human Within is already available for Meta Quest headsets. And of course, our friends over at 131XR have already prepared a review, stating: “Human Within has drawn a decent amount of attention since launch, and from our perspective it’s worth your time to take a look at.”
According to 131XR, while the game isn’t a bad example of the genre, it’s hardly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with VR as a medium. Middling praise there, then. You can watch the full Human Within review in the video below.
SteamVR Launch Details
As with the Meta Quest editions, the game is available with English and French audio options. Subtitles are available in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Italian.

The game is available via SteamVR now, priced at $19.99 USD / £16.75 GBP / €19.50 EUR. A 25% discount is available now and through 17th April, 2025. There’s no word yet on a potential PSVR 2 release, but we’ll of course keep you updated should anything materialise in that regard.
