VR fans love a good zombie survival game, with titles like The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and Arizona Sunshine doing phenomenally well. Soon, Rebellion’s much loved Zombie Army franchise will be joining these ranks. The studio has announced that Zombie Army VR is due to hit most major VR headsets this May.

A VR Army of Zombies
The Zombie Army series has been running for many years now, with the latest flatscreen title Zombie Army 4 released back in 2021. In fact, the VR edition is set before the events of the fourth installment, seeing players return to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. The new story-driven campaign involves fighting through the undead hordes in the bombed-out city of Nuremberg, helping Deadhunter leader Hermann Wolff to find his scattered family.
Using authentic World War II weaponry, fight across zombie-infested 1940s Europe alone or join a friend in the campaign co-op mode. The series’ infamous X-Ray Kill Cam system remains, and players can upgrade their weapons to modify the damage, accuracy, and ammo capacity by earning XP.

Launch Details
Originally announced in early 2024 for a release that same year, the launch was pushed back to 2025. However, at the time, XR Games (Zombieland: Headshot Fever) was working on the title. But now it seems Rebellion has handed the reins over to Xtended Realities.
Zombie Army VR is due for release on 22nd May 2025. It supports Meta Quest headsets, PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets on Steam. Pre-orders are now being taken across supported stores, with a small discount of around 10% available until launch day.
