Launched late last year, Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable has found itself in a questionable position on the Meta Quest. Fans seem to love the game, but there are many detractors, too. Developer UNIVRS has been making efforts to change that with regularly updates to the game. And today, the studio has launched a new global challenge for all players.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable Global Challenge
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable is a first-person combat game built exclusively for VR. Players can either go solo or team-up to fight cooperatively against the titular titans, with high-speed aerial combat providing the core gameplay loop.
From today, a new global challenge will see all players of the game add to a tally, which when surpassed will unlock a new weapon for all: the Thunder Spear. During the event all players will unlock this new weapon. That is, should you be successful in achieving the global Titan take-down goal.
To help you along the way, for a limited time all players can enjoy Co-op Mode. During the global challenge period, players who own only the base game will have access to Co-op Mode, which is usually locked behind a DLC paywall. You can take advantage of the newly available mode in Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Training Mode until March 16, 2025.
The global challenge event starts today. The titan-murdering fun will run from Wednesday, Feb. 26th at 10:00 PM PST to Sunday, March 9th at 11:59 PM PDT.
Limited Time Discount
Celebrating the launch of this new event is a limited-time discount on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3S, and Meta Quest Pro via the Meta Quest Store. The base game, the Armored Titan Expansion Pack, and The Complete Edition are all currently discounted. The sales will end alongside with Global Challenge on Sunday, March 9th at 11:59 PDT.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable Audience Reception
The game suffered a series of delays prior to launch. When it eventually arrived, to say that the game has a bit of a bad rep amongst the core VR audience is to put it mildly. This is largely to do with the very poorly designed trailers for the game. However, the wider VR audience is enjoying the game, it seems, with a 4.3 rating on the Meta Quest Store.
