Fast Travel Games announced last year that it was bringing the highly successful sci-fi strategy title Stellaris to VR. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the launch on Meta Quest 2 there’s not long to go. Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game arrives next week on 23rd March.
While the original Stellaris is a massive galactic simulator, Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game takes a more refined approach. There’s still an expansive universe to explore, but you’re captaining a ship this time – called the Aurora. Because you’re searching for the enigmatic Ghost Signal, along the way meeting new alien species and fighting epic battles.
Stellaris tuned for VR
Described as a “VR action roguelite”, Fast Travel Games’ take on the Stellaris universe should mean less time in menus. And therefore, more time doing all the fun stuff. Stuff like encountering planet-sized space creatures and taking on enemy armadas with an assortment of weaponry.
You’ll be able to customise the experience by looting or purchasing power-ups. Grab a freeze ray, atomic missiles or even enlist a dragon companion to aid in battles. Or conduct research across multiple tech trees and scan exotic creatures for your logbook.
“For years Stellaris has captivated players with its vast and wondrous universe,” said Christopher Smith, Lead Game Designer at Fast Travel Games in a statement. “Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game takes that universe and brings it closer like never before while giving players a completely new way of experiencing it. Both fans and newcomers are sure to discover something special among the stars in this virtual reality roguelite take.”
Being a roguelite videogame, the main campaign will feature randomised maps to give you unique levels to play. Whilst daily challenges featuring global and local leaderboards should add a nice amount of replayability.
Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game is available to pre-order now with a 10 percent discount. It’ll launch on Thursday 23rd March for Meta Quest 2.
