If you’ve got Amazon Prime then it is highly likely you watched the hit show Clarkson’s Farm. Documenting the highs and lows of farming in modern Britain by the world’s most famous motoring journalist, is quite the eye-opener. Therefore, you might be intrigued by farming life and want to have a go yourself. This is where Across the Valley comes in, scheduled to hit PlayStation VR 2 and PCVR next month.

Rather than the hectic shenanigans of the aforementioned farming show, Across the Valley is far more tranquil. Providing players with a charming virtual reality homestead in rural America, the game is all about raising livestock and growing crops. You know, normal farming stuff.

Across the Valley - the sheep

Don’t be sheepish

Firstly, players have to handle every element of the process, getting their hands (virtually) dirty along the way. From watering fields and milking cows to the delightful side of raising adorable baby animals, it’s all part of farming life. Secondly, you’ll need to ensure a bountiful harvest, toiling the land and growing a variety of crops to sell at the market.

With the profits, players can then expand their farm, adding new buildings or improving the workflow. Additionally, they’ll be able to specialise, creating a pig empire or one focusing entirely on egg production.

“Our devoted team is proud to bring a fan-favourite genre to the most powerful VR hardware,” said Konrad Kuntze, CEO of FusionPlay in a statement. “The soil is a canvas and the farmers are the artists! Using their hands, they will raise adorable animals, nurture copious crops, and manage the farm of their dreams.”

Coming to PlayStation VR 2 and PCVR via Steam on 6th April, Across the Valley will arrive on other VR platforms at a later date.
