Espire 1 & 2 are Getting Meta Quest and Steam Updates

Digital Lode’s Espire 1 and Espire 2, are two of the best stealth-oriented VR games. Released in 2019 and 2022 respectively, the studio has announced several new updates for both titles. The Espire 1 & 2 updates will improve features like Meta Quest’s mixed reality support and support for the Steam edition.

Firstly, when it comes to Espire 2: Stealth Operatives for Meta Quest, the “Boundaryless” update has now arrived. This is focused on an issue players have had with Quest’s Guardian Boundary system. This update removes the guardian boundary during MR gameplay, restoring it when they go back into the VR portion of the game.

“We know this update has been a long time coming,” says Digital Lode. “The guardian boundary actually blocks players from being able to reach the extent of their rooms. Thanks to the team at Meta, we have the ability to now support the “contextual boundaryless” feature in Espire 2.”

Espire 1 Updates

As for Espire 1: VR Operative it’s getting a couple of updates for the Steam and Quest editions. Set to launch later this week is the “New Recruits” update for PC. Released earlier this month for Quest, the update includes visual and performance enhancements, new and remixed audio, leaderboard fixes and gameplay polish. “This update includes a tonne of fixes including everything that was shipped in 1.11 “New Recruits” on Quest earlier this month as well as (FINAL final final_final_v3) proper support for HP Reverb G2,” the team notes.

Lastly, there’s a smaller 1.12 update and DLC heading to Quest and PCVR slated for April. Players will have two new environments and ten new virtual challenge missions to enjoy.
