For those of you who love baseball, we’ve got some good news. The official Major League Baseball (MLB) VR game is getting a big revamp later this month. MLB Home Run Derby VR will be getting an all-new progression system, custom Clubhouse and more.

MLB Home Run Derby VR originally launched for PSVR, SteamVR and Oculus Rift way back in 2018. This was then followed by a Meta Quest edition in 2021 on App Lab. Since then the game has languished with little in the way of improvements over the years. That’s about to change, however, with an official Quest release in March.

If you’ve never played the game before, as the name suggests it focuses on hitting home runs. All 30 MLB ballparks have been replicated in VR, allowing baseball fans to perfect their swings on the batter’s plate.

The revamp will give players a new 100-level progression system to work through. However, what that’ll specifically entail has not been detailed just yet. Then there’s the new Clubhouse and trophy room which you can fully customise in your tea colours. On the customisation side, you’ll be able to unlock new rewards as you play. Gaining access to bat skins, ball trails, and more as you earn achievements.

There will be new challenges to earn those achievements, of course. Furthermore, the multiplayer is expanding, challenging up to 8 friends (instead of 4) in a multiplayer slug-fest.

MLB Home Run Derby VR will officially hit the Meta Quest store on 28th March 2024. MLB hasn’t confirmed if the SteamVR and PSVR editions will get the revamp that same day. Or whether PSVR 2 support will be introduced at some point.
