Parallel Circles has today launched the highly anticipated Beat the Beats for PSVR 2. A boxing themed rhythm action game, Beat the Beats is designed to get you sweating.

While there are many rhythm-action games available for VR platforms, Beat the Beats aims to differentiate itself by incorporating basic boxing moves. Players must swing, jab, hook and uppercut their way to victory. As you may have guessed, blocks fly towards you indicating the type of punch you must throw. Of course, they do so in time with a pumping, original soundtrack.

As you progress you’ll unlock new genres and tracks. And of course there’s a full compliment of daily challenges and leaderboards. According to Parallel Circles, Beat the Beats is, “a fun and immersive workout session for greenhorns and champions alike.”

Beat the Beats isn’t PSVR 2 Exclusive

Beat the Beats is available on PlayStation 5 compatible with PSVR 2 from today. The game is priced at $19.99 USD.

Despite launching only on PSVR 2 today, Parallel Circles has made it clear that Beat the Beats isn’t exclusive to the PlayStation 5. In fact, a demo of the PC VR edition is already available on Steam. Furthermore, the studio has previously announced that a Meta Quest version will launch later this year. It will be available for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro.

Parallel Circles is a studio based in the UK and Spain. Their previous projects include the VR runner game ASICS.

As stated above, the rhythm action genre is fairly crowded in VR. The likes of Ragnarock, Smash Drums, and Synth Riders are already competing for your attention. And that’s before we even mention the all-conquering Beat Saber. Does Beat the Beats have what it takes to become one of the best VR rhythm action games?
