Begin Your Martial Arts Journey in Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu on Quest Tomorrow

VR is littered with physical games where you can punch, dodge and generally enjoy melee combat. However, none of them are that focused on martial arts. That’s where Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu comes in, a game created by indie developer Ben Olding. In collaboration with Clique Games, Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu is getting its official Meta Quest store launch tomorrow.

The team originally released Dragon Fist on App Lab as an early multiplayer playtest last year. It mixes physics-based combat whilst paying homage to the golden era of martial arts films. To that end, you can step into the shoes of classic (stereotypical) characters such as the old wise master, a Shaolin monk, the young gifted female kung fu student, a Bruce Lee-inspired character, or even a samurai or ninja.

After months of early access development, the official launch will offer full multiplayer with PvP and co-op modes. Furthermore, the visuals have been completely overhauled with a brand-new art design.

“Transforming Dragon Fist into a cutting-edge, multiplayer first-person fighter has been an amazing journey,” says Ben Olding, CEO of Ben Olding Games in a statement. “The latest features, including the physics-based multiplayer and the extensive art overhaul, were made possible through the hard work and dedication of our talented team. Our collaboration with Clique Games has been instrumental in this launch, and we’re grateful for their expertise and support, as well as the incredible backing from Meta.”

Olding has also revealed a roadmap for Dragon Fist, detailing several upcoming updates. These include character and level packs, a weapons update and a character creator. Even more interesting is the list of potential upgrades, suggesting tennis, soccer and mixed reality modes could be woven into the game.

Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu arrives on the official Meta Quest Store tomorrow, 8th February 2024. Watch the brand-new trailer here. And don’t forget to take a look at all the new VR games coming in February.
