Last week Pocketpair released Palworld on Steam and Xbox as an Early Access game. It has been a roaring success, selling over 4 million copies in under five days. The game doesn’t support VR in any way. But thanks to the recently released UEVR mod created by Praydog, you can play Palworld in VR.
Palworld has caught players’ attention thanks to its Pokémon-esque gameplay where you fight, farm, build and work with creatures called ‘Pals’. The big difference between Nintendo‘s famous franchise and Palworld is the open-world nature of the latter. Oh, and the fact that the action is real-time rather than turn-based. Hence why so many people are raving about it, even as an early access title.

Palworld on the UEVR Mod
Because Palworld was built in Unreal Engine that means we VR fans can utilise the UEVR mod and hang out with our ‘Pals’ in virtual reality! There are some constraints, of course. Palworld was never designed for VR so many of the mechanics you’d take as normal won’t be there. Stuff like object interactions or having a holster to place useful items into.
Even so, the UEVR mod does come filled with tweakable options. So you can get as close as possible to an authentic VR experience. On the other hand, if you want an easier route, ther are already community-sourced Palworld player profiles with the best settings.
To play Palworld in VR you’ll first need to buy the game on Steam (which is currently discounted). And then download the UEVR mod from GitHub and follow the installation instructions. Furthermore, if you’ve got any Unreal Engine-built games in your library you can play those too!
