Innersloth’s hugely popular multiplayer Among Us arrived on Steam and Meta Quest headsets a year ago. Adapted by Schell Games and Robot Teddy, PSVR 2 owners have been patiently awaiting their turn. So in a recent announcement, Innersloth has confirmed that Among Us VR is set to arrive for PICO headsets in December.
Among Us VR will be available on the PICO store from 5th December 2023. “We’re incredibly excited to bring all of the deception, betrayal, and social deduction of Among Us VR to a brand new set of players around the world,” said Innersloth in a statement. “And with full crossplay functionality, the Skeld II and Polus Point are about to see even more beans!”
Among Us VR crossplay expands
Currently, Among Us VR fans can only crossplay between Meta Quest and SteamVR headsets. The PICO launch will expand that player base further so will PSVR 2 when it finally does arrive.
When will that happen? At the moment there’s no confirmed release date. The only tease from the developers comes as: “And, before you ask — because we know you will — we haven’t forgotten our PlayStation VR2 beans. SOON, my friends. We’ll have news to share soon… and we think you’ll be excited. But for now… we plead the 5th.” So maybe a surprise announcement in a couple of weeks?
If you’ve not yet sampled the fanatic delight that is Among US VR, it is a party game for 4 to 10 players. You’re all in a spaceship but one or more of the crew are Imposters. Their job is to kill the crew and sabotage the ship, all without getting caught!
Since its launch last year, the game has seen numerous updates adding new maps, hats, and multiplayer improvements. The most recent is the Fungle map and Fungle Fresh Picks hat pack to customise your character.
