Stardust Collective has today launched their VR cockpit game, Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures. Originally created at a GameJam, the game combines ship management with action-arcade combat.
Announced back in August, XR Source made note of the close proximity of the game’s setting to Final Space. Little has changed in that regard. Players will explore the cosmos with their stolen alien companion Ziggy, who has more than a passing resemblance to Mooncake. Together, you will battle and escape the forces coming to reclaim him as you manage your ship’s systems from your room-scale cockpit.
In Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures, the gameplay revolves around taking complete control of your ship. You can switch on your lights, power your shields, balance temperature and pressure, fix hull breaches and more. All of which is done using the switches, levers and other systems at arms reach in your VR cockpit. This may sound pretty dry at first, but you’ll soon be ramping up the action. Engaging in space combat and dodging asteroids and dealing with laser blasts as you seek to thwart your pursuers.
“We’re really pleased to announce that the game is finally going to be coming to Meta Quest 2 and PC VR on November 9th and we hope you’re looking forward to your galactic adventure with little Ziggy,” said Alex Clarke, Stardust Collective co-founder. “Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures began life as a Game Jam entry back in 2020, with our small team realising that it had great potential as a fully developed VR title!”
As stated above, Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures is launching today. The game will initially be available on Meta Quest 2 and PC VR. There’s been no mention of Meta Quest 3 at this point, however there is no foreseeable reason why the game won’t also work on the newest Meta platform.
