It’s almost Halloween and that usually means an influx of horror games to scare the life out of you. For those after something ghoulish but not scary, nDreams has now released Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord for PSVR 2 and Meta Quest headsets.
Bringing the iconic franchise into virtual reality for the first time, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord features a brand new story. Moving out of New York City, this time around the ghostly activities centre in San Francisco. You’re there to stop the March of the Malevolent, teaming up with a new crew to build a headquarters and fend off this new threat.
Bustin’ some ghosts
Built as a cooperative game – it still supports a single-player mode – Rise of the Ghost Lord allows four players to team up and go ghost hunting. To aid in this endeavour it wouldn’t be a Ghostbusters game without a few toys. Deploy remote turrets, and ghost decoys, and let’s not forget about the the legendary Proton Pack as you solve puzzles and bust ghosts.
This being a multiplayer experience, there are plenty of customisation options to differentiate you from the crowd. There will be various avatars and equipment skins to choose from. Or you can always purchase DLC to plump up the options.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will feature a main campaign mode as well as additional gameplay modes. Meta Quest owners will get an exclusive mixed-reality mode called Mini-Puft Mayhem. This sees you having to quash a Mini-Pufts invasion in your own home.
nDreams is releasing Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord in two additions. The cheaper standard edition or the slightly more expensive ‘Full Containment Edition’. The latter will feature 4 Equipment Skins, 10 Additional Playable Avatars, Slimer Hunt feature & collectable and additional bonus content.
