New Resident Evil 4 VR Mode Screenshots Released

PlayStation VR 2 has had some major games arrive for the system since its launch in February. Quite possibly the biggest for 2023 is yet to come, in the form of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 VR Mode. Initially teased earlier this year, we’ve now been treated to brand-new screenshots from the game.

As you can see from the below imagery, it’s the visual overhaul that’s most striking. Unlike Armature’s Resident Evil 4 VR port on Meta Quest which kept the same visuals, Resident Evil 4 VR Mode benefits from the remake’s lush overhaul. While the general townsfolk look menacing enough with their pitchforks, the bosses now look terrifying. They’re richly detailed, with every blade and chain providing an imposing spectacle.

The announcement was made as part of a recent PlayStation Showcase, which saw new details arrive. New story DLC Separate Ways is set to arrive on 21st September 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. This follows Ada Wong on a clandestine mission that reunites the agent with Leon S. Kennedy during his search for the president’s missing daughter.

For the Resident Evil 4 VR Mode, Capcom is adding a range of PSVR 2-tailored features. These include dual-wielding, realistic weapon handling and enhanced knife action thanks to the Sense Controllers. So player will be able to shoot enemies and defend against them at the same time, adding a greater dynamic to the gameplay.

Plus, if you’re heading to the Tokyo Game Show this month, the new VR mode will be making its debut during the annual event.

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is coming to PSVR 2 this Winter. It’ll be free DLC for anyone who owns the main game.
