Were you excited to hear that The Room VR is coming to PSVR 2? Well, we’ve got more good news. Monologic Games has announced that its platformer Ven VR Adventure is coming to PSVR 2, and that work is already underway.
Originally released in 2021 for PlayStation VR, Quest and SteamVR headsets, Ven VR Adventure will finally make the leap onto PlayStation VR 2. The studio announced via its Discord that: “Ven VR Adventure for PSVR2 is currently in progress.” Adding: “We have received the long-awaited PlayStation 5 Devkit, allowing us to immediately start working on porting Ven VR Adventure. The progress is going exceptionally well, and we will keep you updated on the development.”
Ven’s VR adventure continues
Monologic Games didn’t state how long they’ve been working on the port or how long it might take. Even so, it’s great to hear that the plucky character is making a comeback. Like most PSVR 2 ports, we’d imagine that Ven VR Adventure will get some nicely enhanced visuals, maybe some headset haptic support. Possibly even eye-tracking implementation as Ven does react to you when looking directly at him.
If you’ve not come across the game before, it is a third-person platformer. You guide Ven through a series of elaborate levels, filled with deadly traps and littered with enemies. Your task isn’t easy. Meeting Ven on his unknown planet, you must help vanquish Bruce Nelson, a tyrant who wants to destroy Ven’s magical world and gain access to energy that can make him virtually immortal.
That means a lot of well-timed jumps whilst executing lethal attacks on Nelson’s mechanised army. You also need to be on the lookout for Ven’s little companions, hidden throughout the levels.
In addition to the PSVR 2 port announcement, Monologic Games had another surprise. Tomorrow (Friday 21st) the team will be unveiling a brand new game that they’ve been working on for the past two years! So stay tuned.
