Mark Pil Games has today announced the official release date of Increment, the experimental, incremental, experiential, industrial VR adventure. The studio’s debut title, Increment will launch for PC VR exclusively via Steam.
Increment invites players to delve into an active VR experience. Here, they will be immersed in a world of strange machinery with ever-increasing scale and complexity. By pressing buttons, pulling levers, and utilizing their body, players will uncover the secrets of this adventure.
This completely non-verbal adventure is designed for all ages. Created by solo developer Mark Pil, Increment represents an attempt to enter VR with a clicker game. The developer hopes that Increment ‘pushes boundaries and challenges players’ perceptions’.
Since the initial announcement, Increment has garnered international attention in the gaming and XR community. The game was featured at the New Images Festival in Paris, and at the Tokyo Game Show 2023 as part of the “Selected Indie 80”.
“With Increment, I wanted to bring the addictive nature of clicker, incremental, and idle games to the immersive realm of virtual reality. With my tongue planted firmly in my cheek, I wanted to flip the genre on its head while exploring the consequences of our relentless pursuit of bigger numbers and progress,” says creator Mark Pil, on the thought process behind his debut game.

Increment Release Date
The full version of Increment is set to launch on September 8th, 2023. The game will launch for PC VR, exclusively via Steam. It’ll also be compatible with Meta Quest 2, via Air Link.
The game will be free-to-play, with monetisation offered through a selection of paid cosmetic DLC. According to Maril Pil Games, this pricing model ensures that all players can enjoy the core experience of Increment while offering the opportunity to support the development of independently created, experimental games.
