We’ve known about a lot of exciting PSVR 2 games coming soon for a while now. Some, like C-Smash VRS for PSVR 2 have now arrived but there are still many more waiting in the wings. One of those is Bit Planet Games’ Ultrawings 2, part flight simulator and part arcade experience. Recently, the studio updated fans to cheekily say that the PSVR 2 edition of Ultrawings 2 is arriving “soonish”.

The studio took to Reddit to deliver the news that: “Ultrawings 2 is coming to PS VR2. Soonish.” No further timeline was discussed, so that could be a week, a month or longer. What’s reassuring is the fact that development is still ongoing, much to the delight of PSVR 2 owners. There’s a notable lack of flying games for the device, plugging a much-needed gap when it does arrive.

Thankfully, Bit Planet Games did provide some handy details about this particular edition of Ultrawings 2. Firstly, the PSVR 2 edition won’t be a port of the Meta Quest 2 game. As the studio notes: “The sequel is not a port up from the Quest 2 version. It uses its own higher poly assets and features real-time lighting. It’s a beautifully-stylized game.”

So that should mean it’ll look as good, if not better than the PC VR edition.

Some other interesting tidbits included: “It’ll take you over 30 hours to “beat” the game and double that if you want to gold medal all of the missions.” So there are plenty of flying hours to enjoy! As a multiplayer game, the PSVR 2 version will include an 8-player online dogfighting mode.

Being a PlayStation game it’ll have trophies including a highly coveted platinum one. Lastly, the Quest 2 version had a racing plane available as DLC. The plane will come already bundled with the PSVR 2 edition.
