Virtual reality (VR) is a fantastic visual tool for developing and visualizing ideas, whether that’s an art piece or something more practical. French team Koalabs originally released its reference application for interior decoration Home Design 3D over ten years ago and now it’s coming to Meta Quest 2

Home Design 3D VR has all the immersive features for you to design your dream home. Start in Architect mode to build the foundations, deciding on room size and adjusting wall height before adding details like windows and doors. Once the framework is in then it is time to furnish and decorate.

Koalabs has packed Home Design 3D VR with thousands of interior design choices. Whether you prefer a classic look or something more modern, there are enough sofas, lamps, kitchen units, bedroom furniture and more to meet those needs. Every object can be individually edited, adjusting its colour, size and position for the optimal look.

This being VR, you’ll be able to truly explore your new digital home. Wander around and make quick, on-the-fly tweaks to the décor. You can even switch between day and night lighting to see the different effects.

Once complete why not share your creation with the world? The app enables you to invite others into your home. Or you can always invite four friends over to aid the creative process.

Home Design 3D VR is due to be released on 12th January for Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro.
