Long hot summers mean you’re more than likely to wander to a nice beach or into the countryside for a nice picnic. If you enjoy a spot of fishing too, then finding a suitable riverbank may also be on your to-do list. Next week, Real VR Fishing combines both of those elements with its latest cosy DLC, ‘Picnic Festa’.

Picnic Festa DLC
As the name suggests, Devs United Games has very much embraced the picnic theme for this new DLC. Players can explore seven picnic-themed fishing locations across the US, Spain, and Japan, each featuring region-specific picnic lunch boxes.
Twenty-seven new marine species have been added, of which 14 are standard species, seven are unique “Chubby Fish” variants, and six are rare “Starving Shark” variants. This then leads into a new progression system and ecosystem.
While you’re not fishing, there are plenty of picnic-theme interactive elements at each location, including being able to throw your leftover food into the water to feed the fish.
Environmental Progression
It’s the overfeeding that’s created the new “Chubby Fish” variants. Players can catch these unusually large fish and place them in their aquariums. Doing so will gradually help them recover to their original healthy forms through a new recovery system.
However, like any ecosystem, changing it can have consequences elsewhere. Which is where the “Starving Shark” variants come in. You’ll be given quotas of Chubby Fish to catch, in turn causing the sharks to starve and become malnourished. So these sharks go to look for food elsewhere, cropping up in Real VR Fishing’s saltwater stages.
Players can then rescue the sharks and nurse them back to full health within their lodges.
When and Where?
The Real VR Fishing Picnic Festa DLC is available on 4th June 2026, priced at $8.99 USD on all supported platforms, including Meta Quest.
