Ocean-based games can be fun, enthralling and equally terrifying – just look at Subnautica. MINTROCKET’s Dave the Diver is very much in the casual category, a 2D adventure into the deep blue depths. So it’s interesting to hear that a collaboration is on the way, teaming up with Real VR Fishing, no less.

A Watery Collab
Dave the Diver will be joining Real VR Fishing in June 2026 as an official DLC. This means that players will be able to cast their line into the iconic Blue Hole and encounter familiar faces from the Dave the Diver universe. This also includes the sushi restaurant.
While gameplay specifics have yet to be revealed, from the trailer and the fact that this is inside Real VR Fishing, XRSource would imagine that you’re going to be pulling some rather weird and wonderful specimens out of the water.
Real VR Fishing’s Devs United Games has confirmed that more gameplay details will be revealed in due course. Plus, the DLC will be available for all supported VR platforms.
What is Dave the Diver?
If you’ve not come across MINTROCKET’s hit underwater RPG, Dave the Diver launch for PC and consoles in 2023. The game is part deep-sea exploration and fishing during the day and sushi restaurant management at night (in a similar vein to Catana: Red Flowers’ split feature).
Players can dive into the Blue Hole and uncover the secrets hidden deep below. All while encountering a myriad of aquatic life that can be served up in your restaurant. The more resources you collect and the better the restaurant does, means you can build and upgrade your equipment to venture ever deeper.
Real Fishing in VR
If you’re looking for an accurate fishing simulator in VR, Real VR Fishing stands as one of the best. It’s been available for Meta Quest since 2019 and is also available for PCVR on Steam. It’s a highly accurate fishing sim featuring realistic environments from around the world, 150+ fish species (over 300 if you count DLC content), and even an aquarium to house your favourite catches.
The addition of Dave the Diver should add some interesting quirkiness to the experience.
