What is Order 13?

In a similar fashion to Evil Inside VR, Order 13 VR is going to be a VR adaptation of a flatscreen game, called (you guessed it), Order 13. The flatscreen game was the work of Cybernetic Tentacles, with the VR port being handled by Bowl of Tentacles.

Order 13 is set within a dark, forboding warehouse. With only a cat for company, your job is to pack and process orders. Sounds fairly straightforward. However, this is a giant, poorly lit fulfilment centre, and navigating its long aisles alone can be dangerous, especially when the lights begin to flicker and the strange noises start.

The Steam edition received a ‘very positive’ response from players in 2025, so here’s hoping that translates into VR.

Order 13 VR Gameplay

Order 13 VR features a mixture of gameplay mechanics, from the order simulation side, where you have to retrieve, pack, and ship items while meeting tight quotas, to looking after your cat companion. Naturally, that retrieval process is fraught with danger, navigating the warehouse, discovering new areas and eventually uncovering its unsettling secrets.

Completing orders will gain you cash to upgrade your tools, improve efficiency, and keep your furry friend happy and safe.

This being a VR adaptation, the game is being fully redesigned for an immersive and natural experience. That means every interaction is hands-on, from packing orders to its physical inventory system. As the studio puts it, “You only have two hands, meaning every object you carry matters. Will you keep your flashlight nearby… or risk walking through the darkness to carry something more important?”

Support Meta Quest 3/3S, PSVR 2 and SteamVR, Order 13 VR is slated to arrive later in 2026.

Keeping VR Horror Alive

There has been a surge in VR horror of late, and that’s no bad thing. Titles like Star Trek: Infection, MemoreumLittle Nightmares VR: Altered EchoesFive Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic VR and Evil Inside VR have showcased a wide gameplay variety.

JanduSoft’s and Bowl of Tentacles’ Evil Inside VR has done reasonably well since its launch earlier this month. XRSource’s buddies at 131XR reviewed the game and found it bursting with atmosphere, yet it was rather slow. It took its time to deliver the narrative and gameplay; even the walking meant you plodded along. Hopefully, Order 13 VR will speed things up a little bit, or getting around that warehouse might be a chore.
