Realcast has added Le Dino Labo to its growing roster of immersive experiences on Meta Quest, set to launch late in 2026. Le Dino Labo positions itself as a prehistoric exploration sandbox where players can learn about dinosaurs and their environments through direct encounter and experimentation. Also capturing the current rising trend of blindboxes, but with a boney twist.

What is Le Dino Labo?
At its core, Le Dino Labo offers you an immersive stepping stone between play and education. Using Mixed Reality on Meta Quest, you’ll be piecing together prehistoric predators. Literally. The game sees you opening packets of bones, piecing together the skeletal structures of the beasts piece-by-piece.
From herbivorous giants to more aggressive carnivores, the experience is crafted to give users a sense of scale and presence when studying these extinct creatures; a design element that VR handles particularly well. Instead of passively watching educational videos or reading text, you’ll engage physically with the creatures at close range, examining skeletal structures, and observing behavioural animations in real time.
Le Dino Labo presents an MR title that merges gaming, education, exploration, and hands-on interaction with dinosaurs.
Immersive Learning Through Gameplay
Unlike passive educational formats, Le Dino Labo emphasises interaction and experimentation. You’ll be able to pick up objects, manipulate items within the environment, and interact with tools that help demonstrate palaeontological concepts. These mechanics are built to reinforce learning by doing, which is often cited as a core advantage of immersive VR applications.
The experience also shows how VR developers are increasingly blending entertainment with educational content. Rather than presenting a linear narrative, the game allows you to explore at your own pace.
MR in particular has been used to ‘level up’ learning experiences to great effect lately, as can be seen in the 131XR video below.
Le Dino Labo is Designed for Accessible MR Play
Le Dino Labo will launch on Meta Quest in winter 2026. The title supports both hand tracking and motion controllers. The Meta Horizon Store highlights the game is suitable both younger users and older players seeking a casual puzzling experience. Its inclusion of realistic sound design and environmental effects further enhances presence, helping users feel physically transported into prehistoric times without overwhelming sensory complexity.
The game has been created by Realcast, the studio responsible for the likes of Hide the Corpse and Hoops. To say it’s a change of pace is no understatement.
