Titnaz Games has announced that its psychological horror game The Amygdala Protocol is due for release this week for Meta Quest. Although at this point, we’re taking that with a pinch of salt, as the game has appeared on XRSource’s October and December new releases, being pushed back each time for no apparent reason.

What is The Amygdala Protocol?

In The Amygdala Protocol, you take on the role of a private detective assigned find a neurologist called Dr. Elias Thorne. Thorne vanished inside the walls of his own abandoned children’s hospital, Crestwood Institute, several years prior, and it’s up to you to discover what happened.

However, this is no simple missing persons case, as within the institute lies a supernatural entity born from trauma and unethical science. Because while the hospital was perceived to offer care and hope to children, it did, in fact, hide a dark, nightmarish conspiracy.

Gameplay Details

Designed around exploration and atmosphere, rather than action, you’ll need to investigate the sprawling hospital, discovering clues and solving environmental puzzles. With no weapons to speak of, as you delve deeper, you’ll need to hide from the terrifying presence that stalks the corridors of this abandoned building.

“She is not just a ghost; she is a result. And she is not alone,” the synopsis explains.

When and Where?

Titnaz Games has now earmarked Friday, 6th February, as the launch date for The Amygdala Protocol on Meta Quest. Hopefully, that date is now set in stone, and we’ll get to see this psychological horror in action.

If not, there are plenty of other VR horror games to enjoy, like the Best New VR Horror Games of 2025.
