There are many great flight simulators for VR headsets; it’s a genre that perfectly works with the technology. So much so, even militaries around the world use VR for training. And if yo are a fan of these games, keep an eye out for F/A-18 Pilot Simulator next month.

Become a Navy Pilot

While games like Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown and Aces of Thunder take a more action/arcade approach to flight, F/A-18 Pilot Simulator will be just as the name suggests, a realistic simulator. Taking to the cockpit of the legendary F/A-18 Super Hornet, the game aims to offer “the most immersive and realistic VR flight experience” inside the fighter jet.

Developed by TAS Systems, F/A-18 Pilot Simulator provides a realistic cockpit interior and full VR motion controls. That means grabbing the throttle and flipping switches, basically loads of interactive elements to contend with. You’ll be able to perform high-speed manoeuvres followed by taking the ultimate Navy pilot test, landing on an aircraft carrier. You’ll even be graded to improve your performance.

However, that does seem to be about it, with no other mention of modes or gameplay features.

When and Where?

F/A-18 Pilot Simulator is currently scheduled to arrive for Meta Quest headsets on 26th February 2026. Pre-orders are already available, offering a limited-time discount on the retail price.

Who are TAS Systems?

While you might not have heard of TAS Systems before, you might be more familiar with their work. The studio has previously created Flight Unlimited (2025) and Flight 74 (2024). The former is another simulator with a wider selection of aircraft, whilst the latter is far more action-oriented with missions to complete.
