Following the reveal of CinescapeVR back in July, Super AC has officially launched the game on Meta Quest headsets. CinescapeVR is a VR escape room style game that immerses you into the world of a film-production factory called Cinetech. You become the heir of Cinetech and “harness the power of Cinemorphosis to uncover the secrets of the CODEX, the heart of this movie factory”. Whatever all that means.
CinescapeVR and Cinematic Storytelling
CinescapeVR delivers a unique gameplay experience that blends immersive puzzle solving with cinematic exploration in VR. Set inside the sprawling Cinetech Studios, you’ll be tasked with uncovering the secrets of the mysterious Codex, a legacy-defining artifact that safeguards the studio’s secrets.
Exploring the abandoned film sets you’ll uncover hidden truths behind the studio’s past and the motivations of its founder. This central mystery drives the narrative forward, pulling you deeper into the game’s layered world and offering surprising revelations about your own identity and role within the story.
CinescapeVR Gameplay
What sets the gameplay of CinescapeVR apart is the Cinemorphosis mechanic. This core feature allows you to transform ordinary film props into real, usable objects and vice versa. This mechanic is central to progression, requiring you to think creatively as you solve increasingly complex puzzles.
You’ll use natural gestures to pick up, examine, and alter objects within richly detailed studio sets. Each film set functions like an escape room, with its own genre-inspired themes and Easter eggs that reward curiosity and observation. As you progress, your robotic companion P4-TRIC offers guidance and commentary, sometimes hinting at deeper mysteries that blur the line between ally and antagonist.
