About Puzzling Places
Designed as a relaxing and wholesome 3D jigsaw puzzle, in Puzzling Places you’ll be putting together hyper-realistic miniatures of beautiful places from around the globe. The game made its debut on Meta Quest back in 2012, and has since also launched for PICO and PSVR 2.
The game has received significant acclaim since launch. This includes appearing in XRSource’s own best VR puzzle games feature, and 131XR‘s top picks as seen in the video embedded below.
Puzzling Places Holiday Update
The Holiday Update for Puzzling Places seems pretty comprehensive. As stated above, we have a new game mode and redesigned menus. Several previously existing puzzles have also seen an overhaul. Then there’s also hand tracking improvements and better MR support added for you to enjoy.
The full contents of the update are listed here, verbatim from developer Realities.io:
- Journey Mode – a new game mode for casual puzzling and optimized for Hand Tracking and Mixed Reality play
- New Menu – A redesigned start screen, larger thumbnails, cleaner navigation, puzzle and pack ratings, and more.
- Remastered Puzzles – A refreshed base-game lineup featuring fan favorites plus new effects and animations.
- Hand Tracking 2.0 – More responsive controls, clearer visual feedback, improved tutorials, and natural gestures.
- Seamless MR/VR Switching – Instantly switch modes anytime – during puzzles or in the newly MR-enabled menu.

Availability
The Holiday Update is available as a free download for all players on Meta Quest, PSVR 2, and PICO. Simply update to the latest version of Puzzling Places and you’ll receive all the new content for free. The forthcoming Apple Vision Pro version of the game doesn’t have a launch date yet.
