How to God Early Access Arrives on Meta Quest

The wait is officially over: How to God, the VR god simulation game from Thoughtfish, has now launched today in Early Access on Meta Quest. After months of developing a community eager to step into their own pair of divine shoes, Thoughtfish has now released the game to VR gamers everywhere.

How to Play How to God

In How to God, you embody a deity-in-training navigating a reactive, miniature world where everything responds to touch and intent. Villages will rise or fall depending on how you lead your followers. Creatures evolve through training and nurturing. Rival gods appear to create encounters where spells are cast with real hand movements.

However, How to God doesn’t set an emphasis on being a good god. Divine chaos is always an option, too. From getting a little too playful with your powers to punting villagers skyward just to see what happens. Every action pushes players toward becoming a benevolent guardian or an unpredictable, hilariously unhinged deity.

How to God Review

Our friends over at 131XR got early access to the Early Access edition of the game, and delivered a How to God review. The team there found that How to God is a wonderfully colourful, easy-to-pick-up god simulator. You can watch the full review in the below embedded video.

Early Access Edition

The Early Access release of How to God gives VR players immediate access to the immersive sandbox while inviting them to help craft what the game ultimately becomes. This version includes the core systems that define the How to God experience: civilization building, creature evolution, gesture-based magic, and multiple myth-inspired realms filled with quests and moral dilemmas. Thoughtfish will continue expanding the game throughout Early Access with new worlds, powers, and systems developed in partnership with the player community.
