How to God first came to XRSource’s attention back in the summer, when developer Thoughtfish launched pre-orders for the god sim game. Today, the studio has confirmed that How to God will officially hit Meta Quest headsets next month.

The Life of a Deity

As an omnipotent being, it’s your job to foster and nurture a civilisation anyway you see fit. With a god-like overview and a minion on the ground to help run things, you need to assign tasks, build temples and eventually battle rival gods. However, whether you do this in a nice way or an evil way is up to you. Be nice and answer your followers’ pleas, or plunge them into chaos and ignore them.

Choosing either path with have a visible effect on both you and your creature. Choose an evil path, and your hands will turn red and black, likewise your minion. You can even feed it villages if you so desire.

“We built How to God because none of us could agree on what kind of god we’d be,” joked Christina Barleben, CEO and Creative Director at Thoughtfish, in a statement. “Now everyone gets to find out for themselves. Some players create paradise, others immediately invent new ways to torment villagers. Both are valid paths to enlightenment.”

How to God also includes many other features, including elemental magic, where you can conjure fireballs and craft new powers. There are story quests to complete and relics to unlock, and much more.
