Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked ‘Crown of Frost’ Campaign Revealed

There are a lot of new VR Games arriving this November, one of them being Resolution Games’ Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked. The studio has been slowly releasing new details, with the latest to arrive regarding the game’s second campaign. Called Book 2: ‘Crown of Frost’, this will take players to the far north of the Forgotten Realms.

In the first half of the game, players will journey through ‘Embers of Chaos’, based around D&D’s Neverwinter Wood. For the second half, Book 2: ‘Crown of Frost’, Icewind Dale and Frost Keep are among the wintery settings for this epic adventure.

“I’ve always believed D&D’s power lies in its places as much as its protagonists,” said Matt Sernett, Narrative Designer on Battlemarked and former Writer and Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast with a passion for lore creation. “Icewind Dale, Ten Towns, Frost Keep: these are not just backdrops, but characters in their own right. Setting a story here, in contrast to our already announced campaign that features settings like Neverwinter Wood and Cragmaw Castle, gives us the ability to deliver two full campaigns at launch that honour the breadth of adventure to be found in the Forgotten Realms.”

Icewind Dale is bracing for war, and with armies gathering at Frost Keep, there have now been sightings of a Frost Giant. This cold wilderness is filled with numerous threats, from dire wolves and goblins, to kobolds, slaadi and more.

What is Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked?

If you’ve not been following the news, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is an amalgamation of the two franchises. Combining the turn-based, tabletop gameplay of Demeo with the lore and settings of Dungeons & Dragons.

Supporting tactical co-operative and solo play for up to four adventurers, players pick from six heroes each with their own branching upgrade paths. Resolution Games notes that in true D&D style, the campaigns provide a combined 12+ hours of playtime. Furthermore, additional campaigns in new settings are planned as downloadable content in the future.
