Classic Lumines Gameplay
Lumines Arise takes the formula that made the original a cult classic — falling 2×2 blocks of dual colors — and turns it into a mesmerising, music-powered spectacle. Just as with Tetris Effect, every move, combo, and line clear syncs with the game’s electronic soundtrack. This transforms each puzzle session into a rhythmic journey through sound and light.
A new addition is that of the Burst mechanic: instead of clearing matched squares immediately, players can trigger a Burst to hold their combos. This allows you to strategically build massive block clusters before unleashing a spectacular cascade of chain reactions. It’s a risk-reward system that rewards timing, foresight, and rhythm.
A Visual & Aural Feast
Lumines Arise offers more than 35 stages, each a fully realised “synesthetic wonderland.” Every environment pulses to its own beat, from lush, bioluminescent jungles and buzzing neon Tokyo streets to surreal, abstract dreamscapes and the vast beauty of outer space. These visual worlds aren’t just backgrounds as they react dynamically to your gameplay. In VR, the experience becomes even more enveloping, surrounding players in a living, breathing audio-visual performance.
The acclaimed composer Hydelic, known for work on Tetris Effect: Connected and Rez Infinite’s Area X, returns with a soundtrack that drives the emotional core of the experience. The new Playlist feature lets players curate their own sets of stages and tracks. Ideal for VR relaxation sessions or intense puzzle marathons.
Lumines Arise for PSVR 2
On PlayStation 5, Lumines Arise offers a suite of modes including single-player and online multiplayer. The PSVR 2 support for Lumines Arise continues to showcase Enhance Games’ passion for the medium, as it is available at launch included in all editions of the game on PlayStation 5.
Lumines Arise launches today for PlayStation 5 with PSVR 2 support, and PC with PC VR support via SteamVR. Both standard and Digital Deluxe editions are available.
