One of the most successful VR boxing games has to be Ian Fitz’s Thrill of the Fight. A couple of years ago, a sequel was announced, being made by Fitz in collaboration with Halfbrick Studios. Boxing fans were then treated to an Early Access launch of The Thrill of the Fight 2 a year later. Now, a full launch is planned for November on Meta Quest.

That’s fighting talk!
A boxing simulator focused on an authentic reproduction of the sport, the original game was a purely solo experience. For its Early Access period, The Thrill of the Fight 2 focused purely on multiplayer, allowing players to train and compete against one another.
With the arrival of the full release, The Thrill of the Fight 2 will finally add a single-player campaign in addition to other features. Currently, Halfbrick Studios has yet to outline any specifics regarding the solo mode.
As for those other features, these will expand the competitive options available. The studios’ Trello roadmap lists a selection of ‘in progress’ features, including damage system tuning, improving clinch detection and tutorials.

Launch Details
The Thrill of the Fight 2 is a Meta Quest exclusive set for release on 19th November. Eagle-eyed readers might have noticed a listing on Steam as well. This isn’t for the full boxing game, however, as it’s for a “live sports” style spectator mode to watch matches on your PC. The companion app doesn’t have a release date at the moment.
